About NCNIE

NIE is an acronym for Newspapers in Education, a worldwide effort that supports the use of newspapers as supplementary texts in schools, homes and other educational settings. NIE programs also work with partners in and out of the newspaper industry to advocate for youth voices in the news media.

North Carolina Newspapers in Education (NC NIE) is a program funded through the North Carolina Press Foundation and serves the state’s newspapers, schools and educational institutions. To learn more about NC NIE, national and international Newspaper in Education efforts and affiliated organizations, visit the Web sites identified on the blogroll.
